With That
Moon Language
By Haviz
Admit
something:
Everyone you
see, you say to them, "Love me."
Of course
you do not do this out loud, otherwise someone would call the cops.
Still,
though, think about this, this great pull in us to connect.
Why not
become the one who lives with a full moon in each eye
that is
always saying,
with that
sweet moon language,
what every
other eye in this world is dying to hear?
Is there a Lenten discipline lurking in this poem?
Maybe. I always think that, believing in a loving God and having a theology totally based on love of God and one another, we ought to be a little easier about using the word love in our converse among ourselves. I understand the societal constraints about this, but I think being able to say "I love you" more readily to each other in our beloved community might be liberating.
